RT852 ¡V JXC230
RT852
was the first example of the new RT3/1 body (with no roofboxes
at all) and had been presented to the public at the Commercial
Motor Exhibition at Earl's Court in 1948.
In
July 1948, the first delivery of RT3/1s was made to Dalston
when they received a batch of 6. In October, to replace their
ST's on Routes 81, 116 and 117, Hounslow became the third
garage to receive them when a batch of 16 was delivered,
including RT852. Despite its brand new 3-bay layout to the
front blind box, restricted blinds had to be used
because none of the new format were available, when
RT852 first entered service on Route 117.
